In Norse tradition, the Völva is the Woman Shaman, healer and seer. Back in those times, more than 1500 years ago, in Northern Europe, the Völva was the healer who works for the greater good; she was the Sorceress who can bend reality; the Priestess who holds ceremonies for the people to enter the realms of the mysteries where Spirit is palpable like the skin of a newborn.
She is re-surging today in the fabric of our psyche and on our lands. She heals by entering the fabric of reality through prayers, drumming, dance, singing, and other doorways of altered states of consciousness; she works with the community to heal and professes the highest path of spiritual evolution for all.
Traveling to the other side of the veil, she accesses the multidimensional reality where all aspects are merging into one, she connects with the greater Intelligence as the Self. Her power is in becoming the Perfection of the All There Is, far beyond the limitations of a separated self.
The Völva walked in several dimensions all at once, comprehending the coalescence of polarities, as well as the dimension of unity consciousness.
A Woman Shaman holds tremendous power for the transformation of humanity. As she flies like a great bird into the myriad of possibilities, her personal intent is of prime importance. Should she be trapped in the limited structure of her self, her power would be manipulative as to create the outcome of her personal liking, bending phenomena as per her individual will: following the waves of her personal interests, undoubtedly embedded in the many experiences of her lifetime, the good and the bad, the ecstasies and the sufferings.
The true healer has purified the ego-self to become a clear vessel for the divine light, That which is to be found in everything, That which gives life to everything, That which is everything and nothing all at once.
In ancient times the Shaman was a woman. Women were known and honored for their intimate connection with Nature, and their ability to apprehend the whole rather than the singular, the womb and the child all at once.
During the early Middle Ages, when Europe went under a massive Christianization, the women of the Earth, those who were intimately connected with the forces of Nature, the healers and the midwives, were injured to extinction. The Christian priests, in quest of supremacy and power, silenced the feminine wisdom by condemning it as the voice of the devil. The demonization of the feminine carried on with the Witch Hunt and the belittlement of women. Centuries later, violence has moved onto the mental and emotional level. If the body of women is not burned anymore, their mind is deeply controlled for their power to be taken… for them to be disempowered, because their true power is such defiance to the will to control of the old patriarchs. To be pretty and silent is still the value portrayed by the mainstream media where young women are invited to believe in their attractive power, which is their external beauty, rather than defining themselves from the primordial energy of their being, deeply rooted within.
Women have power. Their power is with the All, it is a circle.
