Human consciousness is plagued with a virus, a parasite affecting all of us for so long that it is well imbued in the fabric of our world, to the point of no return which is normalization. Covid is only an external manifestation of it.
It is normal to think I-thought, to define “me” as who I am. The “me” is the “I think therefore I am” that Descartes professed to be the truth of who we are. It is the little voice in the head that speaks Me and You and believes I is separated from you, needless to say from the All there is. Nonetheless, it is the mark of the beast, which exists in dual consciousness where right coexists with wrong, yes with no, and good with bad. The little voice becomes the beast when it perceives a threat and engulfs itself with personal power.
Science revealed the physiological aspect of the ego-self in the form of the claustrum. “The claustrum is a thin sheet of gray matter, embedded in the white matter of the cerebral hemispheres (…) It has widespread anatomical connections”. It is the little worm in the brain that controls the repetition of programmed neuronal sequences, recurrent connections in the brain of conditioned pathways; what neurologists now call “the default mode network”. It ensures the cohesion of our personal identity.
What science knows as well is that psilocybin, the active molecule of magic mushroom, inhibits the activity of the claustrum, allowing expanded neurological activity where more parts of the brain are now firing together. The result is the opening of the doors of perception as Aldous Huxley poetically described, the access to higher states of consciousness.
Higher consciousness is unity consciousness, where polarities are joined into one.
Ordinary consciousness is, for most of us, dual consciousness. We think ourselves to being as we identify with the many thoughts we think about the world. We give meaning to our present experiences according to our past experiences and what we learned from them. Our sense of self is limited to what we think we are. In this scenario, many parts of ourselves are hidden and non-actualized. They live in the shadow of our ego, they are not accepted and less so embraced. It resumes in a contracted sense of self, a box we have created and encased ourselves in.
All great mystics have spoken of a place where separation vanishes, a land where beauty prevails as the oneness that holds everything together; a state of consciousness apprehending reality as a whole, undifferentiated, and unified.
When psilocybin hits the brain and deactivates the claustrum, everything may fall into Perfection. You may see reality with the fresh eyes of a child, untethered by old programs and opinions. You may realize your body is in you, and not the other way around. You may become the vast and infinite Self and enter the magical fabric of reality where everything is possible, all potentials held into the one moment of eternity.
The Ninos Santos as Mexicans like to call these Nature magical creatures may also illuminate aspects of your inner self you have not yet encountered or long forgotten. Their medicine is of revelation. They show you the hidden, what has been dark simply because it was unseen, and there are many layers of mysteries! They reveal the parts that need attunement for you to become whole, for you to evolve emotionally, as an individual self, and spiritually, as the Self.
They invite each one of us to heal ourselves by coming into contact with our unconscious and bringing light into the dark. As we heal ourselves by cultivating kindness towards our unliked parts, we similarly soften our hearts towards others. What we now include within ourselves we accept in others as well.
Ultimately Love is the medicine.
Magic mushroom holds tremendous potential for the evolution of humankind. When we are facing the chaotic transition in the macrocosm of our world, we are as well invited to face the microcosm of our inner reality and heal the shadow parts of our mind. As within so without.
Moving beyond the separation implied in duality consists of including, taking the whole into our heart. Love is the sacred act of unity consciousness.
When Covid creates a new order for our lives, shaking up our values, abusing our rights, we inevitably fall from our boat into the ocean-facing the uncertainty of our life.
Survival of the fittest seems to be at stake, yet not anymore at the physical level of body force, as we see healthy people perishing; rather at the level of consciousness: what matters is how we respond mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to the situation we face.
The key is in expanding, which is evolving from a small self into the vast and imperishable Self. The key is to include kindness and compassion.
By expanding our consciousness and loving what is we include all there is into a unified field.
Mother Nature is lavish and generous in her offerings. As she offers a disease she offers a remedy. It is our choice to reach for it for the evolution of All.
